The facility provides the necessary infrastructure to efficiently extract DNA
and quantify, normalise and store the extracted DNA in a quality-assured manner,
accredited by SWEDAC. All samples within Swegene projects will be treated
according to the same quality assurance rules as are used in the accredited
processing of the clinical diagnostic samples. All lab processes are organized
via a LIMS (laboratory information management system) which tracks all samples
and all operations performed through the whole analysis process.

The Resource Centre offers services to all Swedish academic researchers who want to study the role of genetic variation in the development of disease. A prerequisite is that the samples have been stored in accordance with bio-banking rules and that the project has been approved by an ethics committee. The steering committee will be consulted for advice on priority issues.
Malmö:
As a rule, prices are subject to negotiations, as they are heavily dependent on
the exact number of samples and analysis systems that are being analyzed. See
list below for price estimates for large projects.
| Process | Price estimates (SEK) | Capacity (# of samples/ year) |
| DNA isolation (mini-prep) | 50 | > 30 000 |
| DNA isolation (maxi-prep) | 150 | > 20 000 |
